Learn Excel 2016 Essential Skills With The Smart Method: Excel Book Review

Learning Excel Skills The Hard Way are the books I read when I first started learning Excel and I still use them as reference books today. The Smart Method is a new way to learn Excel and it teaches you just what you need to know in the workplace. What makes Learning Excel 2016 Essential Skills with The Smart Method unique from other books is that it gets straight to the point and provides the information you basically need to become a great Excel user.

Learning Excel 2016 Essential Skills is very well done with easy sessions and tutorials. One thing you’ll notice right away is that the book is larger than many other Excel books. The pages are A4 size and each example represents real life business problems. Each lesson has a sample file for you to work on, so you’ll practice what you’ve learned.

One thing I realized from reading Learning Excel 2016 Essential Skills is that it’s a silly book with no fluff around the edges. There is no technical jargon, so even beginners will be able to understand the book and learn from it immediately.

About the Author

Mike Smart is the founder and CEO of The Smart Method. In his career as an IT Consultant he designed and delivered IT solutions for large companies around the world. Mike founded Smart Method in 2002 because IT education was an area he wanted to get into. He has taught Excel for people from some of the world’s largest companies in Europe and America. He knows that Excel can be beneficial to both small and large organizations by providing training to people from a diverse professional background from bankers, engineers, accountants to telecom workers, oil workers and insurance brokers.

Mike decided to write books because he thought he could reach more people that way rather than teaching people in lectures. His first books became bestsellers and his books have been on bestseller lists ever since.

The positives of this book

As I mentioned before I like that Learn Excel 2016 Essential Skills has a no-nonsense approach to learning. It teaches you the basic skills to learn in Excel so that you can become a proficient Excel user. The lessons are very easy to follow and well written and I guarantee you will learn and get something out of every lesson. Each lesson builds on the previous lesson and since each lesson is on one page, you will build knowledge at a significant speed. I also like the fact that there is a sample file for you to work on to practice what you have learned. As I mentioned earlier, this book is intended both for beginners who have never used Excel before and for advanced users who want to learn more about Excel. The book covers many topics so you will be proficient in all areas of Excel after you have completed all the courses. Learning Excel 2016 Essential Skills is like learning from a seminar or class but without the cost. I also like the bedding and tips sections on some of the pages. The images and graphics are also very clear, so you can easily visualize what you are learning which improves the entire learning experience.

Negatives of this Book

This book covers the basic features of Excel. Features that most people use in Excel. If you want to learn the obscure features of Excel or want an in-depth knowledge of Excel then this book is not for you. Learning Excel 2016 Essential Skills does not include advanced features of Excel so if you already have good Excel skills and want to progress to an advanced level then I would recommend you to learn Excel 2016 Essential Skills Book Buy Excel 2016 Expert.

Disappointment

I hope you enjoyed the book review of Learning Excel 2016 Essential Skills with The Smart Method. If you want to learn Excel quickly by learning the most common features or if you want to improve your skills I would highly recommend this book.
